WHAT IS FOOT DROP
Foot drop can sometimes be temporary, but if not treated early, it may become a lasting condition. The term “foot drop” refers to difficulty lifting the front part of the foot, causing it to drag when walking. This condition often indicates an underlying neurological, muscular, or anatomical issue. As a result, people with foot drop may scrape their toes on the ground or lift their knees higher than normal to avoid tripping. Foot drop is a challenging and often distressing problem that can increase the risk of falls and injury.
RANGE OF COMMON SYMPTOMS

- Inability to lift the front of the foot
- Dragging toes while walking
- Difficulty walking normally
- Weakness in the feet or ankles
- Loss of muscle control in the lower legs and feet
- Weakening of foot or shin muscles

FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY
During neuropathy treatment, our team has worked with a portion of patients—around 6%—who experienced peroneal motor nerve dysfunction (foot drop) and showed positive results with our therapies. Chronic foot drop can be very difficult to reverse, but we’ve seen significant improvement in function, with many patients walking more comfortably and confidently.
